International Toast Peter H made the international toast to the Rotary Club of New Plymouth West, New Zealand. The club meets each Thursday evening at the West End Bowling Club at 6pm. Rotarian of the month Tony Long was the recipient of the Rotarian of the month award. Tony's effort in organising the Ian Baker Finch Charity Golf Day was outstanding, raising over $25,000. Vocational Talk Richard H gave an interesting ''recount'' of his life in accounting. Richard spent time in England, Scotland and the Middle East before relocating to Australia to be closer to his children and grand children. President Report Greig LA reminded members of the Lift the Lid Walk for Mental Health to be held on 31 Oct from 8am at Mooloolaba Surf Club. Members are encouraged to donate or participate in this event. New Member Induction Mark Paton introduced our newest member, Clive Seymour. Welcome to the Rotary Club of Caloundra Pacific! Guest Speaker Neil Playford gave an interesting chat on Travel in Troubled Times. Neil discussed the pandemic and issues getting Australians home. Neil also discussed issues surrounding travel insurance. We all look forward to travelling as borders slowly reopen. |
