at the Caloundra Powerboat Club, 2 Lamerough Parade, Golden Beach

Arrive 5.45 pm and the meeting starts at 6.30 and finishes at 8 pm

 You may order a meal/snack at the ground floor restaurant first and

it will be brought up to you at the Meeting Room on the 1st Floor

Our Board Members 2026-27

Noel Bates welcomed guests and members to the dinner meeting at the Caloundra Powerboat Club tonight. 
This was the last meeting for Terka Zankova (the Czech Rotary Exchange Student) before she heads home on Saturday 4th July at 9pm after spending 12 months in Australia and hosted my CALPAC rotary club.


Les Pontin - thanked the club and members for their support to him at this year's sleepout for Vinnies he was runner up for highest fundraiser with over $24,000 raised.
Barb Bailey mentioned the article in the recent edition of the Caloundra Chronicle about CALPAC Vocational Excellence Awards night, great exposure for Calpac!


Graham Bowden - international toast
Inspired by the soccer World Cup he did a toast about one of the 2 smallest countries that qualified, Curaçao, with a population of only 159,000, the Rotary club was founded in 1937 in district 7030 and has over 100 members and most meetings are conducted in English!


Peter Asher thanked everyone who attended the changeover dinner and Robyn Hills for taking the photos and he also mentioned the upcoming RYDA program that still needs helpers - the Rotary Club of Caloundra still needs help with the catering side.
Will Waterford - reminded everyone of the annual Golf Day on 9th October - still needing sponsors and helpers on the day.
Also membership - starting this month - occupations and names starting with ‘A’ to be asked to come along to a meeting!
Greig Lee-Archer - mentioned meeting up with Terka’s family in Czech while on holidays.


Bruce Radford did Ricki Ticki on Czech things for Terka - a bit of fun!
Bron thanked the club for donation to Umoja Orphanage in Kenya.

 

Terka did her final presentation to the club on her 12 months in Caloundra and Australia and thanked everyone for making this an unforgettable experience -  full of so many firsts and one main highlight was visiting Ulluṟu!  She also thanked all her host families - Peter and Sylvia Hovey, Suzanne and Greig Lee-Archer, Peter Asher and Wendy Hoskins, Bob and Jan Ainsworth and Bronwynne and Noel Bates for making her stay enjoyable and full of memories.

 
 
The club presented her with a Billabong Backpack and she also got a Maroons cap and shirt to take home.  Everyone in attendance were able to sign a signature Kangaroo to take home as a momento!
After photo’s with all her host families, the meeting was closed with more fellowship downstairs in the club.
