Calpac Capers
Rotary Theme for June
Calpac Capers 25th June 2026

Changeover night from 2025-2026 to 2026-2027

Ross Harrison opened the meeting and welcomed our guests -

Robyn Bailey, Janet and Vern Brown, Jan Capps, Patrick Cleary,
Christine Craig, Marilyn Harris, Jenny Healy, Robyn Hills, Wendy Hoskins,
Sylvia Hovey, Terry Landsberg, Jan Long, Lyn Millar,
Lisa Paton, Sharon Seymour, Trevor Steel,
Sandra Stephens, Deborah Taylor, Lynette Wallis, Donna Waterford

Ross then asked President David Wallis to propose a toast to Rotary international. David gave a memorable toast describing Rotary international as not just the head office in Chicago but the entire 1.4 M members who are the working parts of this great organisation.
Past District Governor Alan Stephens responded to the toast thanking David’s inspirational toast and agreed that its members are what Rotary is all about and with the guidance and connection from all the Rotary clubs from around the world, we can deliver such outcomes as removing polio from around the world.

David Wallis talked about the amazing projects our club has done over the past year including the project in the Philippines, the Xmas trailer raffle, the 20,000th student coming to our RYDA Youth Driver Awareness program and many more. He also thanked his board for their support throughout the year.
Paul Harris Fellowship pins were awarded to Suzanne and Greig Lee-Archer for their tremendous work in our club throughout the year and the amazing result from the annual Christmas trailer raffle and Peter Hovey for his ongoing leadership of the annual Vocational Excellence Awards evening.

Thanks also to Neville Woodforth and Geoff Leady for their continued support of the RYDA Program – over 20,000 students (mostly just starting to drive) have benefitted from this comprehensive Driver Awareness programme.
David Wallis for his continued support of the Rotary foundation over the last three years.
Past District Governor Alan Stephens inducted Peter Asher to be the President of the Rotary club of Caloundra Pacific for 2026 2027.

Peter delivered a thoughtful speech reflecting on the club’s past year and looking ahead to the year to come. He emphasised the importance of identifying ongoing local projects, building on the international President’s theme, “Create a Lasting Impact” and he also mentioned that our club is supporting the homeless with top quality waterproof sleeping bags. Peter talked about the importance of new members, a vital consideration moving forward. Peter also thanked Wendy Hoskins - The Casino Royale theme was beautifully represented by Wendy with the imaginative table set up which created the right atmosphere for an amazing evening.
Peter than presented Pins to the incoming board.

The Raffle was drawn with some very happy winners.
Ross Harrison thanked everyone for coming and closed the meeting.
Although a lot of fellowship went on afterwards.
