International toast by Alan S to Rotary Club of  Nashville 

Chartered 1/2/1914 President Charles Sueing. Currently has 484 members meets at Geodis Park.
The club has its own office open five days a week with three paid staff. Formed their own trust in its early years which continues to support projects
They are a very busy and effective club. They even bought a 173 foot sub chaser for the Navy! ( lets not give Albo any ideas!)
 


Tony Long gave more details of the golf day, looking for raffle prize donations and potential teams and any helpers on the day.

Members keep the date free 9th October to be involved!

 

 

Pres Peter Asher needs more people in community committee ( which magically happened not to much later!)

Break for committee discussion lots of chatter.   Discussions were had, plans were hatched for the future progress of the club.

Barb gave details of some planned vocational visits, look forward to some interesting off site visits.

Planning is underway for Christmas trailer raffle - potential sites, possible trailer etc.

Philippines planned trip first week of August - Coincides with local changeover

QR card for contacts to educate, look at ways to distribute to attract members

Target high profile local people to become possible honorary members?

Advertising? Needs investment.  Also regular exposure in free weekly/monthly publications

Membership is now included as part of Club Service Committee - but finding new members is every members “job” too. 

Greig Lee-Archer  AG is planning something, cluster advertising. 

New members need to understand the level of compliance with societal norms and Rotary expectations before joining.

Peter Asher - Shelter Bags are a focus for district, looking to approve funding for ten bags minimum paid by the club. Distribution by St Vincent’s 

We earned $723 from working at Nambour show! Congrats to those involved.

Six volunteers for garden expo, with Nambour club again this weekend. 

RYDA is well underway, a few spots need filling. Contact Bruce Radford

Members need to check their blue card status. 

Looking to get My Weekly Preview to run a story on 20,000 students this year going through RYDA. 

Clive Seymour - club hand book being updated needs photos of club activities. 

Bottle collection has been going well, Marion Shultz doing a great job.

Alan Stephens advised of district changeover need foundation RI donated three million dollars to RC Port Moresby for malaria over three years. 

Social night coming up at end of July - need suggestions.

Where we meet

  We meet most Thursday evenings in a Function Room

at the Caloundra Powerboat Club, 2 Lamerough Parade, Golden Beach

Arrive 5.45 pm and the meeting starts at 6.30 and finishes at 8 pm

 You may order a meal/snack at the ground floor restaurant first and

it will be brought up to you at the Meeting Room on the 1st Floor
