David Millar opened the meeting as sergeant with the normal formalities and welcomed visiting Rotarians Rein and Yvonne from the Rotary Club of Sonna Haga Sweeden.
International Toast
Alan Morgan did the international toast to the Rotary Club of Nantucket which was incorporated 72 years ago.
He chose the Nantucket Club, New York City, for its friendship.
Their history that’s all about Oil, Sperm whales & how the whales nearly became extinct in 1860. Nantucket was the whaling city of the world with their only income coming from whaling industry, our lives for ever changed when oil was discovered in 1860 & the Whaling industry in Nantucket closed down for good
A Sperm Wales are 60 foot long & weigh 60 KG, with a life span of 70 yrs.
Barb Bailey awarded the Rotarian of the month to Mark Paton, for his work as MC for the ROMAC trivia night.

Bronwyn Bates gave her vocational talk about her life and why she joined Rotary.

Barb Bailey reminded everyone the Vocational Excellence awards night is on the 21st May and to get your nomination in asap.
Vocational Visit to QMIR in Brisbane is on the 6th April and Barb has requested any suggestions for a good place to have lunch.
Our club is going to visit Mooloolaba Club on the 20 th April so please make an effort to attend.

Suzanne Lee-Archer thanked everyone who contributed to the ROMAC trivia night and is looking for feedback on how this event went to better plan for next year.
Mike Healy, Will Waterford and Greig Lee-Archer have met with Bunnings to discuss future participation
The Clean-up Australia day event was cancelled due to weather and a new date is to be advised.
Believe it or not Suzanne has begun negotiations with all parties for this years Xmas trailer raffle!
Membership
Will Waterford discussed the members survey results and clarified the results of the question about meal satisfaction.
We have had a preliminary discussion with a marketing firm about assisting our club to possibly make some changes and then market our club to increase membership.
Some club funds will need to be allocated to this program.

International
Ross Harrison updated everyone on the Teachers Accommodation project at our adopted school in the Philippines.
Now that all legal documents are finalised, building work has actually started and Ross showed some photos of the construction site. Subject to weather conditions the cottage could be finished by May. Ross also advised he will send out the latest update on our KIVA micro loans to all members.

Les Pontin advised he is going to do the CEO sleep out for the Homeless again this year on 18th June and he will be raising the highest amount of funds as he did last year!
Suzanne Lee-Archer spoke about a organisation that is being formed to help in Volunteering and we may be able to use their service in many of our events.
David Millar fined several members for various misdemeanors but somehow this member didn't get a parking fine!
