With an emphasis on Youth and the handicapped in the early years which has continued, but also allocates funds and energy to serving senior citizens, the homeless and improving life around NYC.
The Club has raised US$1.5M with the support of Clubs around the world to support those impacted by the 9/11 attacks in 2001.
Two annual events -
“Police Recognition Day” reflective of the Clubs 50 year association with NYPD and the firefighters.
Rotary Day at the United Nations” each November – a legacy of the work done by the Club in the 1940’s in building support among the business community during the formative years of the UN.
And, fittingly for a Club within a 15 min walk of the Broadway Theatre, (our West End to Broadway event approaching) they have their own Club song penned in 1945 and sung at every meeting since.
