Please join us for the inaugural District 9620 Conference to be held in
beautiful Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast from 18th to 20th March 2022.
Come and celebrate with us the coming together of two great Districts and
get to know your fellow Rotarians and new-found friends in a relaxed atmosphere.
It will certainly be an opportunity to see each other in person rather than
over Zoom and hear some amazing speakers changing the lives of others!

Don’t miss meeting the former Chief of Australia’s Defence Force - Admiral (Retired) Chris Barrie AC - who will discuss Climate Change & Sovereign Risk and how it will directly impact Australia & the Pacific, Bangladesh, Europe and the world. And with our two other speakers, Admiral Barrie will outline what we can do about it.

Is there a gender bias for climate action? Zara Bending, Senior Lecturer at Macquarie University and expert in International Environmental Law, believes so – and will speak on how the law might help mitigate against these risks.

Together with Prof Will Steffen, an international environment researcher from the Climate Council – who will speak about ‘tipping points’ - you will come away with ideas about how you can make a difference.

Past Exchange Student
Pictures from Theresa and Matthias Benkert's family Christmas card, received 12 January (posted in USA 14 December). Theresa was our 16 year old YEP student from Germany in 2001.

Theresa and family are living in Lawton, Oklahoma, while Matthias is posted to the US Army at nearby Fort Sill. Children Nora, Korbanian, Maria and little Leopold are learning American English.

Win spent two weeks at Fort Sill in the 80s when posted elsewhere in the US. The Benkerts are there for three years but are enjoying the posting.
