International Toast
Graeme B made the international toast to the Rotary Club of Roswell, New Mexico. The club meets each Thursday at 12.15 at Roswell Park in the Bill Johnson Activity Building. They have 222 members! And were chartered on 18 April 1951. Check out their

Vocational Talk
Geoff Leddy gave the vocational talk. He was born in Brisbane, married in 1969 and has 2 lovely daughters & 4 grandchildren. He started work for Queensland Railways, working for them for 4 years as a Cadet Civil Engineer. He studied for a Engineering degree and later did a post grad course in Local Government Engineering. He spent 30 years working in Bundaberg as the Shire Engineer, overseeing many different projects. He joined Bundaberg East Rotary Club in 1981. He started his own development consultancy firm on 4 July 1983, finally selling in 2007. He has been on the board of RACQ, the Gold Coast Airport and a director of RACQ Insurance and AAA. He joined Caloundra Pacific in 2015 and Pelican Waters Probus in 2017.
President Report
Greig LA reminded members of the Lift the Lid Walk for Mental Health to be held on 31 Oct from 8am at Mooloolaba Surf Club. He advised that the DV program has funds available and is waiting for suitable referrals from the relevant authorities.
New Member Induction
Will Waterford re-introduced our newest member, Peter Higgs. Welcome back Peter to the Rotary Club of Caloundra Pacific!
Directors Moments
Bruce R filled us in on the International Service doings. (ROMAC is coming up in March next year).
Peter H announced that he is leading a history walk in the main street of Caloundra in the coming week.
Will W encouraged us all to seek new members. He has John and Sebastian to be inducted in the near future.
Dan T is looking for volunteers to fill the roster for the trailer raffle.
Geoff L advised that RYDA has finished for this year – 7 school days and 2 setup days were involved. The youth committee will be presenting bursaries later this year. They are looking for candidates for the upcoming Science Summer School.

Les P distributed 100 comfort packs to the homeless. The defibrillator will be installed (with training) at the CCSA Hall. Also, there is a Cancer Morning Tea at the CCSA Hall on 26 May (if I heard correctly).
Mike B obtained help with eskies for the Opera in the Hangar event.
Guest Speaker
Terry Landsberg, Division 2 Councillor, spoke to the club.
His background is in small business and is proud to be the councillor for Division 2.
Some of the topics he covered were:- mass transport on the coast, the transport corridor through Ben Bennet Park, Job expo next month, the win local – buy local promotion, Vitality Village and the high-speed undersea broadband cable, the proposed youth detention centre at the old Caloundra Court House (submissions close on 15 November) and the growth on the Sunshine Coast (4000 lots approved last month alone).
