Last week we had Don Rosenfeldt discuss his massive motorcycle journey to Cambodia raising money for various causes. I will make a recommendation to the board to make a contribution to his fantastic fundraising effort.

I am pleased to report the Queensland Air Museum Steak Burger BBQ was a success with a gross profit just over $1000. This will be deposited into our project account and will be included in this year's budget. We will make a contribution of at least $200 to the QAM for providing the site and their ongoing work in preserving and displaying aircraft.

This last Sunday Ken Hinkly and I attended the Rotary Foundation Grant Seminar. There are two types of grants available to us, District Grants and Global Grants. District Grants are a great way of matching our funds for community benefit and increasing our public profile. Last year, the Rotary Club of Maleny successfully obtained five district grants nearly all pertaining to small signage projects within the Maleny Community. So please keep a Rotary Foundation Grant in mind for any upcoming projects.

Next week our youngest member, Patrick King, will present his future in business to us.

Yours in Rotary,

Dan
