Last week, Patrick King gave us an impressive presentation on his upcoming new store in the Sunshine Plaza. His business planning and research is extremely impressive and everyone in Rotary will surely support him. Be sure to visit King IT in the Sunshine Plaza when it opens in October. I would like to bring in a little bit more business networking through community service into the Rotary Club of Caloundra Pacific. I will encourage anyone who would like to promote their business or another outstanding business in the local community during our community announcements at each meeting.

Last week I received a phone call from the Caloundra State Primary School. They have requested our assistance over a couple of days of the Caloundra Fringe Festival to run a BBQ. More details to come. Brian Reith has also received an expression of interest from the golf club in developing a partnership for running a community event or fundraiser. Again this is another great opportunity to get the club out there in the public eye.

This Thursday is our Social Night. The Caloundra RSL has supported our club for many years, so we have decided to hold the night there. Please be there at 6pm for 6:30pm start as per normal. We have booked an extra 10 seats, so if you would like to invite a friend or family member please feel free to do so. There is no cover charge as we will be ordering from the menu in the Restaurant. There will also be live entertainment.

I have three events in mind that we could do in the following 6 months:

1. Organise a Hinterland winery tour to a few venues, we could ask the Rotary Club of Maleny to join us.

2. Do something for the Melbourne Cup, possibly at Corbould Park.

3. Organise a Caloundra vs Caloundra Pacific friendly cricket match at Henzell Park with afternoon tea.

We will discuss in further detail at the next meeting. Have a good week.
