School Holidays, Spring, Labour Day Long Weekend, Melbourne Cup, Pride of Workmanship Awards Night and Christmas. We are busy!

Last week we had the pleasure to listen to Mick Sullivan discuss his history before and with the Sunshine Coast Turf Club. We nearly all agreed that the Sunshine Coast Turf Club is one of the best racing venues in Australia. Neville awarded the CEO of the Turf Club with a Certificate of Appreciation for using the facilities for the last several years for our very successful RYDA days. To take advantage of our friendship, we have decided to have our Melbourne Cup celebrations there this year. For a heavily discounted price, we have a table in the Members Area for an entry price of only $25 per person. At this stage we need numbers by the 15th of October so please get in quick to secure your seat - email Ross for more information.

This Sunday we need volunteers for the Fiesta at Kings BBQ hosted by Caloundra State School P&C Association. We only need to provide a BBQ, cooking utensils and volunteers - everything else will be looked after by the school. We won't be handling money either, so just cooking and serving. How is that? And we get a bit of free advertising! If you can help, even for 1 hour, please email me at info@calpac.org.au

This Thursday night we are having a Vocational Visit to RACQ Careflight airbase at the Sunshine Coast Airport. For $20 per head, we get a tour of the operations and aircraft of the base, food and drinks. This is a partner's night, so please invite as many people as possible. I would like to see 50 people there, showing our support for such a great organisation. Tony Long has been working very hard with RACQ Careflight for the upcoming golf day and we have successfully attracted the attention of the Caloundra Weekly and the Sunshine Coast Daily. More to come...

Please keep an eye on the website, as I have been uploading stories constantly. If you would like to submit a story please email info@calpac.org.au.

Yours in Rotary,

Dan
