In March 2015, three clubs from D9600 hosted a group of 12 Rotarians and partners from D6250 in Wisconsin USA. This highly successful visit was the first Rotary Friendship Exchange into our district and plans are now underway for the return visit which will take place from 16 to 25 September 2016. Attached is a draft itinerary for the visit and the RFE Committee is looking for expressions of interest from club members who would like to participate in this ground-breaking visit.

Also attached is an RFE brochure which outlines how Rotary Friendship Exchange works. In simple terms, up to 12 Rotarians (including partners) are hosted by clubs in the host District over a period that varies from 7-14 days. Except for accommodation, visiting Rotarians are expected to fund their own travel and personal expenses. A budget for the exchange visit will be prepared and agreed with the participants beforehand so that costs are kept at a reasonable level. Travelling as a group can also result in significant savings.

The Rotary Friendship Exchange Committee encourages Rotarians to seriously consider participating in this Friendship Exchange to D6250 in Wisconsin. The draft itinerary caters for a wide range of interests and there is nothing like staying with the “locals” who will take pride in making this a special experience for our team. It can also serve as part of a wider overseas trip.

Any Rotarians interested in participating in the return visit should email Charles Godfrey on districtfriendship@rotary9600.org by 14 March. Charles can also be contacted on 0405023802.
