Last month Robyn Hills volunteered to help out at Warlukurlangu - an Aboriginal artists community at Yuendumu. It is approximately 300km North West of Alice Springs in Central Australia, on the edge of the Tanami Desert.
This group have been producing gloriously vibrant coloured artwork and supporting the community since 1985. Days were filled with mixing paint, getting supplies to keep the artists going, making lunch and cleaning up, as well as photographing the artists at work. This is Judy Napangardi Watson, one of the prominent artists there. Mostly the artists sit on mattresses on the ground and paint from an aerial perspective.
