President’s Moments
David welcomed Terka, our new Exchange Student from Czechia, to our Club.  We hope you enjoy your stay in Australia and look forward to more visits from you over the next year.
David also thanked those who have volunteered to help at the Garden show this weekend and also reminded us all to continue to donate to the ROTARY FOUNDATION - we encourage all members to contribute a minimum of  $45 each to the foundation during this Rotary Year.

Guest Speaker
Our own Reverend Barbara Bailey was the guest speaker for the night with her topic of “A Life Changing Move.”
Barbara’s journey as a minister started as a Pastor in Hughenden and Richmond in north Queensland, where the locals didn’t really want a woman as their pastor. She and Ric arrived during a flood with no food in the house as the locals didn’t want them there. But they left two years later having made lifelong friends. Barbara told a few humorous stories of her time there. She was sometimes known as “Father”, Pope-ess or Mother Superior. Her next stint was in the Burdekin at Ayr and Home Hill;  during that time Barbara did four weeks in the USA as a New World Missioner. Also in Ayr, her husband Ric had a debilitating stroke and after 6 months training in Brisbane she became an Ordained Minister. After being promoted to the role of Presbytery Minister for North Qld (the eqivalent of a Bishop) she shifted to Townsville with Ric. More humorous stories of times on Thursday Island. In 2004 Barbara and Ric moved to Caloundra and not long after that Barbara joined Caloundra Pacific Rotary.

Director’s Moments
Barbara Bailey, Vocational Service, told us of an upcoming Vocational visit to a cider factory that sounds like a great night.
Bruce Radford spoke about RYDA staring in the coming week. Volunteer numbers for all the set up days are good and volunteers for Program days next week are OK but we will need more volunteers in later weeks.

Graham Bowden as the new attendance registrar, reminded us to all please reply to meeting invitations as soon as we possibly can, preferably by lunch time Monday as the caterers place their food orders Monday night.

Sergeants Session
Les proceeded to fine each table with his usual routine of asking a question which was almost impossible to answer. There were some mixed results, but in the end Les managed to raise about the maximum that could be raised with the relatively small numbers at the meeting.
