Geoff Leddy proposed an International Toast to the RC of New York City USA.
Several Presidents of the USA including: Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan and George Bush Snr and Jr, have been members. In fact, POTUS Donald Trump is a Past President of the Club. It was formed in 1909 with 15 members as the 6 th RC in the World. Paul Harris was an Honorary member of the Club, elected as such at the Club’s inaugural meeting. The Club is part of District 7230. The initial lapel pin that most of us have was designed and made by a member of this Club.

Pres. David Wallis updated the meeting on a few emerging requirements that will need to be addressed. Completion by all members of the Youth Protection Modules in My Rotary and the need to have at least two members to complete the MyRotary – Grants modules to enable CALPAC to apply for District and Global Grants as a prerequisite. Alan Stevens and Greig Lee-Archer volunteered however the more members who complete these easy modules the better.
Pres. David also presented a PHF with two sapphires to a very well deserving Win Fowles. Congratulations, Win.

Membership Director Jacque Castorina performed the inductions of Mr. Ray Capps and Mr. Peter Asher after Director Int’l Services Ross Harrison formally introduced Ray and AG Greig Lee-Archer formally introduced Peter to the CALPAC members.

Sergeant Will Waterford shared his life and Rotary journey and whilst all very interesting – the highlights being - accepting a Board position after only being in the Club for less than one year. Club Pres. 2008/09 and an Assistant Governor a few years later. Will’s final words were “I help with Rotary Projects, not because it raises money, which is great – I help because ….. it’s like visiting your old Grandma, not because you hope she leaves you something, not because you get praise from friends and family, I do it because it’s the right thing to do and I want to do it.”

Les Pontin Introduced Angela Bauer and mentioned that she has had remarkable success with Les’ aging body.
A very interesting talk about the “7 Gateways of the spine” and the understanding that the nerves in the spine are linked to your organs.

“Your Body has the innate wisdom to heal”, described as “Your internal WIFI” the body has a complex web of nerves and neurons connecting your spine to your brain. Angela’s approach is different from a Chiropractor in that there is no poking, prodding or manipulating, just gentle massage to encourage the body to heal itself.
Angela who is in Caloundra (07 5227 8688) has invited Rotarians to enjoy a free consultation to become more aware of your body.

Sergeant Will found a fine for most members present with a few cross fines also tabled.

Raffles were drawn by Les Pontin and Graeme Bowden, with Ted Faa looking on and the usual chocolates were won and shared in true Rotarian style.
But before we leave - time for a smile....
