Just back from an amazing trip to Antarctica .  We flew to Ushuaia, which is the southern tip of Argentina, South America, then sailed the notoriously rough waters of the Drake Passage - which lived up to it's reputation.  The reward was worth it - the scenery is stunning - a pristine environment providing a visual feast of icebergs, glaciers, majestic mountains and wildlife including penguins, seals and whales.   With the water so clear, seeing the shapes of the ice below the surface as well as the reflection on the water was a real treat.  What surprises at times is the amount of colour.  Some of the icebergs are blue - the older the ice is, the more compact and dense it becomes, making it appear blue.

Anyone interested in hearing more about the expedition and seeing more photography?  We're doing a 20 minute presentation at the Rotary Club of Caloundra Pacific on Thursday evening, 14th April, 2016 in Caloundra.  Please contact us for more information and details.
