Hi Members,

I hope all is well, I’m just providing you all with an update on Vocational Services.

1: We now have four successful recipients for the Pride in Workmanship awards night.

A: Jemma Malin, House Keeping Rumba Resort

B: Gary Foster, Manager Omega Auto Body Repairs

C: Haydn Bell, Tech Bar Telstra Store Caloundra

D: Scott Massie, Food & Beverage Attendant Caloundra Golf Club

The successful recipients of the Award are all very worthy and highly valued by their employers. The success on the night will rely significantly on all members and partners attending the night if possible. I’m sure it will be a very positive and worthwhile night. I am currently in the process of sourcing a person to present the awards on the night. I hope to achieve this by the end of this week.

2: The Rotary TAFE dinner which is Thursday the 5th of November is being supported quite well. We now have 25 members and partners attending. The maximum number is 50 and it would be great to fill all 50 places with our members and their partners. It will be a good night and a great opportunity for good fellowship. If we don’t fill the 50 places by the 21/10/15 I think we should open it up to friends.

3: The next vocational visit will be Thursday the 11/2/16. I have organised a vocational visit to Bushtracker Caravans at Kunda Park. It should be an interesting night. The Bushtracker brand is much respected in the industry and being based on the Sunshine Coast is very positive.

4: The Volunteer Wards night has been set for Thursday 26th of May. I will organise application forms for nominees and provide them to members in the New Year. The successful applicants will be chosen by the Vocational Committee based on the selection criteria which I will provide in the New Year. There are a significant numbers of volunteers in our community doing great work and making a difference. I would appreciate all members to get behind these awards and provide our club with nominations.
